ROME, N.Y. – A Rome man allegedly lied to a grand jury about getting hit by a car while testifying against the driver in November of 2020.
The Oneida County District Attorney’s Office has charged 34-year-old Jesse Beltran with first-degree perjury, a D felony.
In the felony complaint, investigators said Beltran lied during his testimony when he accused a woman, who he knew, of purposely hitting him with her car, causing him serious injuries.
The woman was indicted by the grand jury because of Beltran’s testimony, but upon further investigation, the case against her was dismissed.
Beltran was arraigned and released, pending additional court action.
