ROME, N.Y. – A Rome man was arrested for allegedly stabbing another man on East Bloomfield Street just before 8 p.m. on Wednesday.
Police were called to the 400 block after 45-year-old Daren E. Johnson allegedly stabbed 24-year-old Daniel I. Johnson, of Utica, three times with a knife. Daniel suffered a stab wound to the upper back, one on top of his shoulder and a severe cut on his left thumb.
Police say the two men are not related.
The suspect was found in front of his residence at 408 E. Bloomfield St., where he was arrested and charged with second-degree assault, causing physical injury by means of a dangerous instrument.
The victim was taken to Rome Memorial Hospital for treatment. Police say his injuries were not life-threatening.
The suspect was held for arraignment Wednesday in CAP court.
