CAMDEN, N.Y. (UPDATE) -- A Rome man died following a motorcycle crash in the town of Camden on Sunday, June 21.
Ronald Secor, 65, of Rome was pronounced dead on-scene, according to the Oneida County Sheriff's Office.
It happened before 7 p.m. Sunday in the area of River Road in the town of Camden.
The Sheriff's Office says Secor was driving his motorcycle northbound on River Road when, at some point, he collided with Steven Mahana, 55, of Clay. Mahana was reportedly driving his motorcycle southbound on River Road in tandem with Mary Akshar, 57, of Fayetteville, who was driving a separate motorcycle.
Mahana was air lifted to a Syracuse area hospital with life-threatening injuries. Akshar was treated and released on scene by EMS.
The accident is still being investigated and reconstructed by the Oneida County Forensics Unit. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
No traffic citations have been issued at this time.
The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by the New York State Police, Camden Fire Department, Camden Ambulance, and Mercy Flight.
