UTICA - A Rome man arrested earlier this month for having sexual contact with a child has pleaded guilty.
The Oneida County District Attorney's Office says 25-year-old William Lighthall Jr. entered a plea of guilty to third degree criminal sexual act, a felony, in Oneida County Court Tuesday morning. Lighthall was accused of engaging in a sex act with a male child younger than 17 in Rome on April 29.
Lighthall is scheduled to be sentenced on July 24.
An order of protection was requested on behalf of the victim, who has also been offered services through the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center.
