A Rome man who admitted to having sexual contact with a child has been sentenced to jail time, according to the Oneida County District Attorney’s Office.

In Oneida County Court on Wednesday, 25-year-old William Lighthall was sentenced to 6 months in Oneida County Jail with 10 years of probation, sex offender registration and an order of protection on behalf of the victim.

Lighthall was arrested back in May after authorities say he had sexual contact with a male child less than 17 years old in the city of Rome at the end of April. Lighthall then pleaded guilty to the charge.
