ROME, NY-- If you live in Rome, city officials are asking for your help.
Each year the city receives around $900,000 in federal funding under the Community Development Block Grant program.
According to the U.S. Housing and Urban Development guidelines, the funding must be used to benefit low to moderate income areas, eliminate blight and increase economic opportunities. City officials said participation from the public is essential to addressing community needs, during a meeting on Thursday at city hall.
The next public meeting is Thursday, Feb. 8 from noon to 1 p.m. in the common council chambers at city hall.
