A Rome teen is facing charges after he allegedly sexually abused a child last month, according tothe Oneida County Sheriff’s Office’s Chief Deputy Joseph Lisi, director of the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center.
Seventeen-year-old Charles Dobson III was arrested Wednesday and charged with second-degree sexual abuse, forcible touching and endangering the welfare of a child, all misdemeanors.
Dobson is accused of sexually abusing an 11-year-old boy in a home in Rome on May 24.
Dobson is scheduled to appear in Rome City Court on June 26, and officials say additional charges are possible as the investigation continues.
The victim has been offered counseling services through the Child Advocacy Center.
