Comets rookie goalie Will Cranley made his professional debut.

In the first period, Cranley breaks his stick and the Amerks take advantage. Dylan Blujus scores from the far point. Comets trailed by one heading into the second frame.

Rochester doubled their lead in the second with a short-corner goal from Brendan Warren.

In the third, with 36.5 seconds remaining, the Comets earn a penalty shot. Sam Anas capitalizes on the opportunity shooting the puck right over the glove of Michael Houser.
But Rochester earns the 2-1 win.

The Comets finish the unprecedented season with a 16-11-0 and 1 record for 33 points and conclude their 8-year run as an affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks (sharing an affiliation with the St. Louis Blues this year). Next season you’ll see the team sporting red and black as an affiliate of the New Jersey Devils.

UPSL
Invictus FC 2, Krajisnik FC 1*

Semi-Pro soccer is back in Utica.

Krajisnik FC made it's 2021 home debut at Sal Longo Field hosting Invictus FC from Syracuse.

With 7:43 to go in the first half, Invictus doubles their lead to hold a 2-0 advantage at halftime.

Late in the second Krajisnik responds Denis Mostriansky sends a strike to the left corner of the net to get on the board.
But Invictus holds Krajisnik off and wins 2-1.

This is the third season for Krajisnik FC. After a year like no other, the club is happy to be back playing at home.

“We still played through Covid. It was a condensed schedule so it was a two-month schedule instead of a four-month season. It was tough because we had nowhere to play until Accelerate opened up and we were able to we were able to play there,” said Anel Pajazetovic, Krajisnik President. “We have 12 games total. Right now, we're 2-2, two wins and two losses. We have a really good team it's just getting together. Colleges came out late so we still have a lot of players who are still out so we're just waiting for them to come out and then we have a complete team.”

The women's team kicks off their season June 26th at 2:00 pm at Sal Longo Field.
