COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. – The Susquehanna Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals has had to provide shelter to an influx of cats and kittens since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, and is looking to find them new homes.
SQSPCA Executive Director Stacie Haynes says the shelter is now at capacity for cats and kittens, and a wait list has developed for new animals.
The shelter is offering a 20% discount off of the adoption fee from Tuesday, Sept. 1, to Saturday, Sept. 12, in an effort to help some of the animals find families.
Haynes says with many students home learning remotely for the beginning of the year, they might benefit from a ‘study buddy.’
“Whether you are looking for a ‘study buddy’ for your son or daughter this fall, or would simply like a companion for yourself, we can help you make the perfect match,” she said.
