ONEONTA, N.Y. – The SUNY Oneonta community is trying to help food service workers at the college who were recently laid off, by starting a fund for them.

Sodexo, the food service company SUNY Oneonta contracts, has laid off more than 100 full-time workers after the campus closed due to a coronavirus outbreak. The dining hall at the college will also be closed in the spring.

The college created the Supporting Sodexo Colleagues 2020 Fund, to buy grocery store gift cards for the former employees.
