NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. -- Three people were injured in a three car crash on Seneca Turnpike in New Hartford.

The accident happened around 6pm Tuesday along State Route 5 along Homestead Road, in New Hartford.

New Hartford Police say Micah Crewell, 40 of Sauquoit allegedly hit the rear bumper of a vehicle being driven by Mohammed Abdelhak, 21 of Rome, who was stopped in traffic. Police say his vehicle was pushed to another lane and into a vehicle driven by Pamela Benjamin, 58 of West Winfield.

Abdelhak's vehicle was overturned. Abdelhak, his passenger, and Benjamin were all taken to St. Elizabeth's Medical Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Crewell was given a ticket for following too closely behind a vehicle.

He will answer to the charge in New Hartford Town Court next month.
