SCHOHARIE, N.Y. -- Authorities have arrested the wife of the limo driver who was killed in the Schoharie limo crash, on charges of welfare fraud.

Kim Lisinicchia, 54, is accused of receiving more than $24,000 in welfare benefits that she was not entitled to. Authorities say this alleged schemen went on from January 2016 to October 2018.

Lisinicchia is charged with welfare fraud, grand larceny, and offering a false instrument.

The October 2018 crash killed all 20 people in the limo.

The Albany Times Union previously reported that limo driver, Scott Lisincchia, had marijuana and traces of an anti-seizure medication in his system, which could have led to the fatal crash.

Kim Lisinicchia is due back in court next week to answer to those charges.
