TABERG, N.Y. (UPDATED) – New York State Police say the man who was allegedly shot and killed by his brother in Taberg was also stabbed by another brother after the shooting.
On Friday, Sept. 17, James E. Westcott was allegedly shot in the face with a shotgun by his brother, 27-year-old Matthew G. Westcott, at their home on Route 69 in Taberg during a family dispute.
James died at the hospital from his injuries.
Matthew was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
State police say another brother who was also involved in the dispute, Michael Westcott, was arrested Sunday, Sept. 19, and charged with first-degree assault for the alleged stabbing.
Both Michael and Matthew are being held in the Oneida County jail.
