SYRACUSE, N.Y. – A Clay man has died after sustaining injuries in a fatal motorcycle accident in Camden on June 21.
Steve Mahana, 55, was airlifted to a Syracuse hospital with serious injuries after the accident. He died at the hospital the next day.
Ronald Secor, 65, of Rome, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
Another motorcyclist, 57-year-old Mary Akshar, was also involved in the accident, and was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
Oneida County Sheriff’s deputies who investigated the incident say Secor was driving his motorcycle northbound on River Road just before 7 p.m., when he went into the other lane and collided with Mahana, who was riding in tandem with Akshar.
It is unclear what caused Secor to veer from his lane, according to the sheriff’s office.
No further details will be released about this incident.
