ONEONTA, N.Y. – State Sen. James Seward and his wife have tested positive for coronavirus, according to a statement released by Seward’s office Monday.
Sen. Seward was tested at Albany Medical Center where he has been receiving treatment. He says he expects to be released from the hospital soon.
Seward’s wife was tested at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown, and is quarantined at home.
Both say they were diagnosed with mild cases.
Seward is suffering with bladder cancer for the second time, and announced earlier this year that he would retire at the end of 2020.
