UTICA, N.Y. – Sentencing has been postponed for the Rome man who pleaded guilty to slamming his 2-year-old son’s head into a wall.
Brandon Shugars, 24, pleaded guilty to endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor, in August, after he says he assaulted the child for having an accident.
He was supposed to be sentenced on Tuesday, Nov. 12, to three years of probation. Judge Michael Dwyer says Shugars should serve 30 days in jail in addition to the probation, and has adjourned the case until Dec. 3.
