CROGHAN – Several cows were killed after a barn caught fire in Lewis County last night.
The barn located at 6967 Texas Road in the town of Croghan burned town after a tractor and feed trailer caught fire. Despite workers’ best efforts to fight the flames, the fire quickly spread to the barn.
By the time the Croghan Volunteer Fire Department arrived on scene, the barn was already engulfed in flames.
Workers were able to get most of the cows to safety but others did not make it out.
Fire officials say the fire is still under investigation at this time.
