According to National Grid, nearly 10,000 people across the region are without power after severe thunderstorms swept through the area Wednesday afternoon.
Below are the number of people without power by county, as of 4:30 p.m.:
- Herkimer County: More than 5,400
- Oneida County: More than 3,000
- Otsego County: More than 900
Crews were called to several areas for reports of trees and wires down after the storms.
National Grid expects power to be restored by 7 p.m. in Otsego County; 9 p.m. in Herkimer County and 4 a.m. in Oneida County. These times are estimated and can change as the damage continues to be assessed throughout the region.
