New York Mills, N.Y. - New York Mills Police are looking for the public's help after they say multiple shots were fired at Twin Ponds Golf and Country Club early Saturday morning.
Police say they were called to the popular banquet facility on the property around 12:40 A.M. Saturday. Police say officers found multiple shell casings, and uncooperative parties.
Police say there was a large party of over 150 people that was gathered in the banquet facility and in both 911 calls that came in, the individuals reported that the shots had come from individuals involved in the function being held inside the banquet facility. Police say it was also reported that multiple people had guns.
It is not known at this time if anyone was struck, and it is not known how many shooters were involved.
Twin Ponds Owner David Girmonde told News Channel 2 Saturday morning that what happened just hours earlier is a total shock to everyone affiliated with the longstanding New York Mills business, "My family's been here for 75 years and this is the first I think this might be the first time that I can remember the police were called to Twin Ponds and 75 years."
Anyone with information, or anyone who may have been in the area at the time, is asked to contact New York Mills Police at (315) 736-6623.
Police say all calls will be kept confidential.
