NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. – While Sangertown Square may have reopened, state restrictions still don’t allow people to sit and enjoy a meal.
Sicilian Delight has started a petition to allow seating in mall food courts again.
According to the petition, customers can be seen eating while sitting on the floor, or putting food on top of garbage cans or other flat surfaces to eat standing up.
Sicilian Delight maintains that mall food courts should be able to operate at 50% capacity, just like other restaurants, to ensure social distancing guidelines are met.
More than 100 people had signed the petition by Wednesday afternoon.
