Snow arrives on Sunday as a low pressure system moves in.
It will swipe by our area to the south. This means that the
greatest snowfall amounts will be in the Southern Valleys. Lesser
snowfall amounts are expected the further north.
Here's the timeline:
Overnight: Icy spots develop. Partly clear and cold. Low 22.
Sunday morning: Partly sunny and cold. Mid 20s.
Sunday afternoon: Snow showers arrive. High 33.
Sunday evening: Snow showers. Heavy at times south. Lower 30s.
Sunday night: Snow showers. Low 29.
Monday morning: Snow ends. Mostly cloudy. Lower 30s.
Most of the snow will be in the Southern Valleys, which is where
the greatest snowfall accumulation will be. Around 2-4" of
snowfall accumulation for the Southern Valleys and a trace to 2"
for the Mohawk Valley and North Country. This isn't a lot of snow
but it could be heavy at times, with snowfall rates up to 1" per
