SYLVAN BEACH, N.Y. – One man was sent to the hospital after colliding with a vehicle while riding his snowmobile without a helmet in Sylvan Beach Saturday evening.
Troopers were called to the scene at 1804 Vienna Road around 5:40 p.m.
According to state police, 30-year-old Brian A. Hatton, of Sylvan Beach, failed to stop at a stop sign while riding his Ski-Doo snowmobile, and hit the passenger side of a Subaru Forrester heading south on Vienna Road, driven by 35-year-old James D. Tyler of Blossvale.
Police say Hatton hit his head during the accident, and was taken to Upstate University Hospital for treatment. He's listed in stable condition.
Tyler was free to go after troopers tested him and found no signs of drug or alcohol impairment.
No one is facing charges at this time, but state police are still investigating the incident.
