Bundle up on Sunday! It will be cold and snowy throughout
the day. A weather system will bring cloudy skies and snow
showers.
There is a low pressure system to our west right now. It has a
cold front attached to it. This system is moving east and will
bring snow showers ahead of it. The snow begins tonight and
continues throughout Sunday.
Here's the timeline:
Tonight : Snow begins. Cold. Low 21.
Sunday morning : Snow showers. Mid 20s.
Sunday afternoon : Snow showers. Lower 30s.
Sunday evening : Snow showers. Lower 30s.
Sunday night : Snow tapers off. Low 29.
Here's how much snowfall accumulation is expected and where.
Around 2-4" for the North Country and a trace to 2" for the
Mohawk Valley and Southern Valleys. Again, this is for right now
until Sunday night.
Drier air moves into the region on Monday with mostly cloudy
skies. Then scattered lake effect snow showers form on Tuesday
with breezy winds. Drying out once again on Wednesday with more
sunshine.
A much stronger weather system arrives for Christmas Eve and
Christmas Day. This has the potential for heavy rain, changing
over to snow with windy conditions. We will continue to follow
the latest trends and update you with any new information.
