UTICA- The Utica Zoo hosted the 33rd annual Spooktacular Harvest Festival over the weekend.
The zoo was all decorated for Halloween. Children and their parents dressed up too.
The marketing director for the zoo says Spooktacular used to be scheduled at night, but they decided to move it day time for good reason.
"As a zoo we want everyone who comes to visit to see our animals and be able to tell their stories and a lot of animals here are ambassadors to wild animals so being able to see the animlas, hear their stories and learn more about them is a big part of what we do here," said Mark Simon. He adds, "there are so many places that do scary and spooky like the Cayo Industrial Warehouse, they do scary really really well." Simon says their goal was to keep the event family friendly.
Spooktacular continues on Sunday from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m.
