UTICA, N.Y. -- New information has been released as to why Utica fire fighters were called to the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel Tuesday night, for reports of smoke in the building.
NewsChannel 2 has confirmed there was no smoke, it was just a sprinkler malfunction.
It happened after 6 p.m. Tuesday.
The hotel sits at the corner of LaFayette and Seneca streets.
No one had needed to be evacuated from the building, and there was no one injured.
