UTICA, NY - St. Mary of Mount Carmel / Blessed Sacrament Church is holding another food drive-thru this weekend.
On Saturday, the event is scheduled to run from 4 to 7 pm or until the food runs out.
On the menu are such items as sausage and peppers, mushroom stew, and pasta fagioli.
The cost is only $5 and you don't even have to get out of your car. Volunteers will come to you, take your order, and then bring your food out to you. Not only do you not have to worry about dinner, but Joseph Briggs, who helped coordinate the event, says you’re helping out a good cause at the same time.
"With the pandemic, some of the offerings have been down during the weekly masses. This is just a way of trying to subsidize what we've been losing as far as some of the masses are concerned, so the church can continue to do the programs that they've been doing."
If you're still hungry after eating all that delicious food, pizza fritta will be available for $2 Sunday from 8 am to noon.
