UTICA, N.Y. -- The Stanley Theatre announced Friday they’ve named a new executive director.
Lisa Wilsey will replace Jerry Kraus, who is retiring from his position after 6 years on the job, 10 total with the Stanley.
The committee thought that Wilsey’s experience in entertainment, corporate partnerships and much more made her the perfect candidate for the job.
"I’m very flattered to be taking on this position — it’s very unique to the area. I know there is not many of them and I'm very eager to get started,” said Wilsey.
“It’s just the right time. I sat back and thought if there was ever a right time to transition out, now is the right time and hand it off to someone in good shape. And that's what we are doing with Lisa. We are just very confident that it is going to be a smooth transition and very seamless. She is going to be with e for the next few months and then she is going to take over on March 1,” said Kraus.
Kraus will stay on to help with the transition for the next few weeks. The Stanley is confident that Wilsey’s talents will bring a positive future for the theatre.
