ILION, N.Y. – Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there – with pizza.
State Farm agent, Scott Grates, ordered pizzas from six local pizzerias Thursday, in an effort to support small businesses struggling after all of the new state mandates.
Grates offered the pizza to clients and encouraged them to continue sharing with those in need.
“We did a whole pay it forward thing. We wanted to support fellow local businesses and we also wanted to encourage our customers - if they needed the pizza - they could keep it. But we wanted them to pay it forward as well.
“A lot of them were being delivered to daycares, home watching kids, some folks who couldn't get out of the homes, people in essential businesses for work and they were paying the pizza forward too,” said Grates.
The company also purchased more than 100 gift cards for $10 to hand out to people.
