UPDATE - Herkimer County District Attorney, Jeffrey Carpenter, confirmed the relationship between the victim and the shooter.

Carpenter says two were acquaintances, not related. He also says the shooter could face possible charges.

"Charges could come as a result of this, it's under investigation right now, the autopsy was conducted yesterday, we do not have that report yet but at this point in time we're exploring all avenues, from not charging to facing possible criminal charges," Carpenter said. "The forensic investigation unit with the state police came out to reconstruct the scene the best they could, we had drones flying over to map the scene. The investigations ongoing and determinations will be made I assume in the very near future."
