ALBANY, N.Y. – Gov. Andrew Cuomo has announced that only medically necessary visits will be allowed at nursing homes in New York State beginning Friday at 5 p.m. to help limit the spread of coronavirus.
The state is also requiring health screenings for employees at nursing homes each day. The staff is also required to wear surgical masks.
Cuomo has asked nursing homes to set up Skype and other online communications to allow families to visit electronically.
