ONEIDA CASTLE, N.Y. – New York State Police have arrested a suspect in the murder of 22-year-old Tyler McBain, who was killed at his home in Oneida Castle on Tuesday.
Travon D. Golden, 22, of Canandaigua, is charged with second-degree murder.
According to New York State Police, two suspects fled the scene in a black SUV after McBain was murdered. Autopsy results show that McBain was shot one time in the torso.
The vehicle was spotted on the Thruway, but the driver would not pull over for police, leading troopers on a chase before crashing into a ditch near Waterloo.
No other suspects are in custody or charged at this time, but the investigation is ongoing.
Golden is currently in the Oneida County jail.
