COLESVILLE, N.Y. – New York State Police located and arrested a Broome County man who allegedly shot a trooper Wednesday evening and the trooper has now been released from the hospital
Around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to a call to check the welfare of an individual at a home on East Windsor Road. That’s when police say 34-year-old Jason D. Johnson shot Trooper Becky Seager in the hip area. She was taken to the hospital for treatment, non life-threatening and was released to a swarm of troopers that to support her.
Johnson evaded police for nearly 20 hours, but was found and taken into custody in Colesville just after 4:30 p.m. on Thursday at a river bank off of a roadway.
