State police still investigating 1973 death of Oneida Castle woman

More than 44 years later, New York State Police continue to investigate the death of Martha Louise Allen from Oneida Castle.

ONEIDA CASTLE – More than 44 years later, New York State Police continue to investigate the death of Martha Louise Allen from Oneida Castle.

Allen was 21 years old when she was reported missing by her grandfather on July 26, 1973. They lived on Ninth Street in Oneida Castle, and her grandfather reported that he had last seen her around 8:30 a.m. July 25, 1973, when he left for Syracuse for the day.

Police say a boater on Black Creek found a partially decomposed female body in the water on August 17, 1973, which was later identified as Allen.

Anybody with information about Allen’s death is asked to call New York State Police at 315-366-6000.
