There are Disaster Assistance Services Centers stationed throughout the Mohawk Valley to provide residents with resources needed to recover from flood damage.

"As the Mohawk Valley continues to recover from the recent storm, we are making sure households in the region have easy access to the essential services they need to get by," said Gov. Andrew Cuomo. "The disaster assistance centers that we have set up will connect people with trained staff who can assist them in this critical time while we continue to work with local responders to address the damage in public areas."

Inside each Disaster Assistance Services Center residents will be able to talk with representatives from the State Department of Financial Services, Office of Children and Family Services, Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance, Department of Labor, Office of Mental Health, Department of Health, Office of People with Developmental Disabilities, and the Office for the Aging, along with the American Red Cross.

Commissioner of the New York State Office of General Services RoAnn Destito was at the Whitesboro Fire Department Friday to talk to flood victims and let them know the state is there to help, even if the issues take some time to resolve.

"People are able to come here. It might be an easy question, it might be an easy issue. An issue that can be resolved in one day, or they take the information and go back and get back to them in one of two days, or it may take a little bit longer,” said Destito
