MOHAWK VALLEY- Two bars in the Mohawk Valley had their liquor licenses suspended by the state for violating the state's new coronavirus pandemic regulations set in place for bars and restaurants.
Dick Smith's Tavern on Schuyler Street in Utica:
Investigators with the State Liquor Authority said they saw a dozen people gathered around the bar area, not wearing face coverings.
One investigator said they had to squeeze through the crowd to get a drink, and the bartender wasn't wearing a face mask.
Side Street on Otsego Street in Mohawk:
Investigators who went into that bar say there were about 30 patrons in the bar, and they say 19 people were standing at the bar with no face coverings and they weren't eating food.
The visits to both establishments were made on Friday, August 14.
