Our weather turns active as we head into tonight, with showers and thunderstorms expected to develop. Some thunderstorms could be on the stronger side, producing gusty winds and locally heavy rainfall. These storms are expected to arrive between 2-5 am and could impact the early morning commute. Most of the strong weather is expected to be over before the kids head out to school in the morning.
Another round of storms are expected to develop Wednesday afternoon as a cold front approaches from the west. The greatest risk for severe weather looks to be east of our area. Still, gusty winds and locally heavy rain will be possible in our area, especially east of Utica.
A drop in the humidity will take place on the backside of this cold front, with will be most noticeable on Thursday. The humidity returns as we head into the weekend.
