We skipped spring this year and jumped right into summer. We broke several record temperatures over the past few days including the record high on Tuesday of 92 and two record highest minimum temperatures in the past two days.
Our hot and humid weather is coming to an end as a strong cold front moves through the region. This front is expected to produce a few rounds of showers and thunderstorms as we head throughout Friday. The first risk looks to be Friday afternoon ahead of the cold front. Widespread storms are expected to move through Friday evening. In both cases, the risk for damaging winds is expected.
The storm prediction center has Central New York under the "slight risk" category. While that doesn't sound alarming, we have to remember where this falls in the context of the severe weather levels issued:
