UPDATE- NEWSChannel 2 now knows the name of the man who Utica Police believe shot someone on Lenox Ave in Utica early Saturday morning.
Police arrested Malik H. Clea, age 26 of York, South Carolina.
He is charged with:
Attempted Murder 2nd (F)
Criminal Use of a Firearm 1st (F)
Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd (F)
The officers who located Clea based on the "be on the lookout" description were working a Patrol saturation/supplemental detail, specifically related to the recent shooting incidents around the City.
Additional charges are likely.
Police interviewed the victim, 36-year-old Will Jerfferson, who was in a mdically induced coma as of Monday morning.
Police said he woke and was willing to talk to them.
They said based on information from the victim, they're continuing their investigation.

UTICA, N.Y. -- A suspect is in custody and charged with attempted murder in the shooting on Lenox Avenue in Utica over the weekend.
It all happened around 1:30 Saturday morning.
Police found the victim with two gunshot wounds – one to the face and one to the groin.
Police are still not releasing the victim's name nor the suspect's name.
The victim is in critical condition, but is expected to survive.
The investigation is ongoing.
