UTICA, N.Y. – The suspect involved in a standoff with Verona police in August of 2019 pleaded guilty Thursday to two counts of menacing a police officer.
Police say Justin Carter, 35, barricaded himself in a barn off of Route 46, refusing to come out after shooting at police officers and patrol cars.
Carter pleaded not guilty to first-degree attempted murder in September.
He now faces 10 years in state prison on the menacing charges, and has given up the right to an appeal.
Carter is scheduled to appear in Oneida County Court for sentencing on March 20.
