Syracuse, NY - Syracuse kicked off spring drills which will be fifteen practices over the next seven weeks.
Two hours of individuals, 7-on-7 and team periods filled day one of their workouts.
The Orange are returning 13 starters for the 2020 season.
There are some new faces on the field but also on the sidelines. Sterlin Gilbert was hired in January as their new offensive coordinator and quarterback's coach and Tony White is a new addition to the program as the Defensive Coordinator and more.
Head Coach Dino Babers who is preparing for his fifth season with the orange is highly anticipating the season start stating,
“I'm really excited. I thought the young men came out here and did a really good job on opening day. There is a lot of communication going on, things that are different and they're not hearing us they're listening and I think that there's no doubt that it was exciting and it was a better day.”
Syracuse will hold two more practices this week before spring break. They will end their spring season with their second annual Ameri-CU Spring Football Saturday on April 18.
They open the 2020 season on September 4th at Boston University.
