Syracuse assistant coach, Delisha Milton-Jones, has taken a head coaching position at Old Dominion University.
Milton-Jones, who is a WNBA legend, played 17 years in the league and is a two-time Olympic gold medalist, joined the Orange in 2019 and will now replace another former WNBA star Nikki McCray-Penson at Old Dominion.
ODU ranks in the top-10 in the NCAA all-time wins column and has produced 55 All-Americans including Nancy Lieberman.
Milton-Jones told ODUsports.com, “My heart is filled with excitement as I step up to lead the women’s basketball program at Old Dominion. I’m tasked with the responsibility of maintaining or superseding the exceptional work that is currently in place due to the relentless work of Nikki McCray and her staff. The history of this prestigious program is one that I’m intent on continuing with a forward progress towards even more success.”
Syracuse head coach Quentin Hillsman tweeted a photo saying ‘thank you’ to his now former assistant.
