SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Syracuse University men's basketball program has been forced to postpone its second straight game due to a pause in activities while undergoing coronavirus close contact protocols.
Syracuse Athletics announced, Tuesday, that its Dec. 30 game against Wake Forest has been temporarily removed from the schedule. This comes one day after the Orange postponed its scheduled contest for Tuesday against Notre Dame.
'Cuse hasn't announced any positive tests of its own, but is working with local health officials to undergo contact tracing procedures after members of the University of Buffalo program tested positive following their contest last Saturday.
On Monday, Syracuse Athletic Director John Wildhack said the team will pause basketball activities until further notice "out of an abundance of caution."
There has been no make-up dates announced for either the Notre Dame nor Wake Forest contests.
The next game on the SU schedule, as of now, is Jan. 2 at North Carolina.
