Spring is here! Sort of. After a cold, windy, week (with a little snow) the weather has finally started to warm up. Today's high climbed back above 50 degrees, closer to normal than it's been in the past several days. The coldest temperature this week from Griffiss was 20° on Thursday morning. This broke the record low for the day. We also saw 0.5" of snow accumulation.
Going forward, the weather will feel much more like spring on Saturday. High temperatures climb into the low 60s with partly sunny skies! Unfortunately, this warmth doesn't last.
Low pressure approaching the region will bring widespread clouds, rain, and cold temperatures beginning Sunday morning and lasting through Monday evening. The steadiest, heaviest rain looks to fall Sunday afternoon and early Sunday night. Rain is expected to change to snow along higher elevations north and south of the Mohawk Valley. Some accumulation is possible, so stay tuned.
The weather does warm up again next week. Temperatures climb back into the mid 50s on Tuesday and back to 60 by Wednesday.
