On Monday night, in six games in the Stanley Cup Finals, the Tampa Bay Lightning defeated the Dallas Stars to become champions for the first time since 2004 and just the second time in franchise history.
After losing three straight games and a Game 5 into double overtime win, the Dallas Stars made a legitimate case for why they deserved the Cup. But two goals scored by Blake Coleman and Brayden Point and a strong defensive put-out secured the Stanley Cup for the Lightning.
Former Utica Comet Luke Schenn, who had his first stint in the NHL minor league in 2019 is now a Stanley Cup champion.
