Sixty years of tea manufacturing in Little Falls is about to end for Redco Foods. The company confirms that Harris Tea Company has purchased their tea-making assets, and will consolidate production of Red Rose and Salada Tea brands in its Moorestown, New Jersey and Marietta, Georgia, facilities. Production in Little Falls will end by December 14th.
Redco officials say plant employees were offered relocation at both the Georgia and New Jersey plants. They say all administrative, finance, customer service and online sales support will remain in Little Falls, where sale and distribution of the Junket Desserts Brand and Teekanne Tea Brand will continue. Company officials did not say how many employees were offered relocation, and could stand to lose their jobs if unable to relocate.
According to the Herkimer County Historical Society, Salada Shirriff Horsey began making tea in Herkimer County in 1958. They say the name changed to Salada in 1962.

Redco Foods announces relocation of Red Rose® and Salada® Tea Brands manufacturing equipment to
Harris Tea Company facilities in Moorestown, New Jersey and Marietta, Georgia.
Little Falls, NY (October 2, 2018) - Redco Foods informed its employees yesterday that production of
Red Rose® and Salada® Tea Brands will end by December 14, 2018. In accordance with the agreement
announced on September 4, 2018, Harris Tea Company who has purchased the tea manufacturing assets
from Redco Foods and completed a license agreement of these two brands, made the decision to
consolidate the tea production between its two manufacturing facilities located in Moorestown, New
Jersey and Marietta, Georgia. Redco Foods plant employees were offered positions to relocate at either
facility. All administrative, finance, customer service functions including on-line sales support will
remain in Little Falls.
Redco Foods will continue the sale and distribution of the Junket® Desserts Brand and Teekanne Tea
Brand from its facility in Little Falls.
