SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Authorities say a 17-year-old who was shot at an outdoor party in Syracuse this past weekend along with eight other people has died.
Chariel Osorio was shot Saturday when at least six people opened fire at the densely packed party. Other shooting victims ranged in age from 18 to 53 and were expected to survive.
No arrests have been made, but police believe the incident was gang-related.
Osorio received his high-school diploma hours before the shooting. Nearly 200 people attended a vigil in his honor Thursday.
Witnesses said several hundred people had gathered for food and music last weekend, but shots rang out shortly before the party was to end at 9 p.m.
