ROME- If you missed the Nutcracker at the Stanley Theatre, the Rome Captiol Theatre is putting it on this year.
The classic musical is put on by the John Hayes O'neil School of Dance.
Our crews were there early to see what goes into setting up this production.
The entire cast consists of two hundred dancers and dozens of staff. The dressing rooms were filled with parents and staff members orgainizing the cast and getting them ready for show time.
Parents that were there call it controlled chaos.
"Its fun chaos, I really enjoy it. I actually woke up in the middle of the night with a nightmare that I didn't make it here on time with my daughter. But its fun it's a great start to the holiday season." said parent Jaime Thiesen
The costumes are meticulously chosen and designed for each dance or scene. Director Steve Jackson and his wife design choose which costumes see the stage.
"We choose costumes based on the type of choreography that we are doing this year for this particular show. We have things that are made professionally, some things are ordered. There are probably over 350 costumes in this particular show." Director Steve Jackson.
Showtimes are December 7th and December 8th at 7PM. Tickets can be bought online or at the Rome Capitol Theatre Box office.
