UTICA, NY - The smell of German food and the distinct sound of German music filled the air once again at the Utica Maennerchor’s German Bavarian Festival.
Last year the festival had to be canceled because of the coronavirus. This year it’s a whole different story.
Hundreds of people made their way to the opening night of the festival to enjoy some beer, bratwurst, and music from the Bavarian Brothers.
There were also performances of traditional German folk dancing, gift basket raffles, games for the kids, and the ever-popular cake booth.
“We miss our friends,” says Werner Franz. “We miss all these good people. Last year we couldn’t hold it. This year we are so happy to have everybody back for a lot of fun, friendship, and good food, and good drinks. Just fun”.
The Bavarian Festival runs from 5-10 pm on Friday and Saturday, and Sunday from noon - 4 pm. The cost for adults is $5. Children under 12 are free.
