Herkimer County Public Health said a third person tested positive for coronavirus Friday.
Health officials say they are reaching out to people who may have been in contact with the person to notify them of the test results.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced the first case in Herkimer County on March 12, and a second case was confirmed March 19. Health officials say numbers will inevitably rise as more people continue to be tested.
There are a total of five cases in Oneida County as of Friday, March 20.
