UTICA, N.Y. -- Time is up for Oneida County executive candidate Dave Gordon to take back what he said about incumbent Anthony Picente getting a former staffer pregnant.
Caitlin McCann's attorney is filing a lawsuit in state Supreme Court, in Oneida County.
The statement from Brindisi, Murad and Brindisi-Pearlman says in-part:
"These allegations are false as Ms. McCann did not have an affair with Mr. Picente nor did she have a child with him.
Dave Gordon's actions to harm an innocent woman's reputation are just another example of bullying tactics he has engaged with in the past, both politically and against women.
We intend to file the defamation action and let the judicial system work to protect and bring justice to Ms. McCann, who is being targeted and harmed for the sole purpose of Mr. Gordon's political ambitions."
Gordon was given seven days to retract his accusations or face a lawsuit. He tells NewsChannel 2 that he has evidence an affair took place and a child was conceived.
